Welcome To “In The Frame”!

Hello! And welcome to “Clickety Click: In the Frame”, our new Blog! Here you will be able to find out more about who Clickety Click are, the challenges of running a small business, behind the scenes of our photoshoots and anything and everything that interests us!

We’re aiming to update this every week but if you want more Clickety Click info why not follow us on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook!

So to kick us off we thought we’d give you the opportunity to meet the people behind the camera, so first under the lens this week is Photographer and general admin monkey – Eleanor.

***

Name? Eleanor J, Clark

So what’s the J for? It’s Jane. I know, not terribly exciting, but there it is.

Age? Increasing too quickly! I’m 24.

Marital Status? Engaged, and getting married in July next year. And if you think in the picture he looks like our Technical Director – that’s because he is!

What do you do in Clickety Click? I’m one of the three partners who formed Clickety Click (you’ll meet the others soon!) I am a photographer mainly but also tackle the admin and do the majority of the Twittering – probably because I like to chat!

What camera equipment do you use? I’ve got a Sony Alpha DSLR, which no one else is allowed to touch.

What made you take up photography? I guess I first started really loving photography when I took a Gap Year to New Zealand. Its an incredibly photogenic country and I took thousands of photographs (which yes, I made everyone sit through when I got back!), Also I like to think I’m quite creative, while at the same time being utterly useless at “traditional” art-lesson art, so photography allows me to express that better. Finally I just love having photos, I like the way that a piece of paper (or these days a digital file) can evoke so many memories and feelings and it’s nice to think that some of the work I do will form part of a fabric of memories for someone else. Wow, that was a long answer for a simple question!

So do you like being photographed yourself? Sometimes maybe. I always feel a bit awkward then end up not looking like myself. I much prefer being behind the camera!

What inspires you? Oh goodness I have no idea how to pin that down! It depends according to my mood – a beautiful landscape, unusual architecture, unusual lighting, people, plants, pets! I think if I had to pick a single one it would be The City of London – I always come back from there with thousands of photographs of the architecture, I have some up on my wall so I can look at it all day long!

Tell us something unusual about yourself? I can stretch my little fingers out at right angles to the rest of my hand! Im sure they aren’t meant to stretch that far. Shame I don’t play the piano really….

What was your dream job growing up? First I wanted to be a vet – but then I thought that wouldn’t work as I didn’t like cats (strangely I love them now). Then I used to tell people I wanted to be a Forensic Pathologist – mostly because it stopped them asking more questions!

Do you have any hidden talents? I can knit pretty well and I am learning to embroider. I play the recorder reasonably well and classical guitar reasonably badly. I’m a pretty good swimmer and have swum the Great North Swim twice and am braving it a third time this year!

What book are you reading at the moment? Ummm… I usually have about three on the go. I’m reading Sense and Sensability by Jane Austen (my “take with me in the car” book), My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult (my “I’ve read this so many times but its so good” book) and I’m about to start The Elegance of The Hedgehog (my “I bought this because it had a good title” book).

Do you have any pets? I have a hamster called Pixel or Pix for short. She does have a knack for knowing when I am at work and then making the biggest amount of noise she can – either by shredding paper, gnawing toilet rolls or climbing up the cage and then falling off. She has also featured on Twitter before too as she wee’d on some terms and conditions I was working on.

Any tips for starting up in business? Persevere, don’t run before you can walk, go on as many free courses as you can and try and form links with other businesses, not only because its useful, but sometimes its nice to speak to someone who understands how crazy it can be!
